The lens is able to isolate subjects for portraiture at 55mm, and while it's not on par with a lens like the Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R, it's a great replacement in a pinch. Fuji has 3 native macro lenses, the 30mm f/2.8, the 60mm f/2.4 and the 80mm f/2.8. The 30mm and 80mm have a 1:1 reproduction ratio, while the 60mm only has a 1:2 reproduction ratio.
