EF-M stands for Electro-focus mirrorless and is a dedicated lens mount for Canon's compact system cameras, the EOS M-series. EOS M cameras accept EF-M lenses directly. Currently I’m just using the Fotodiox FD to EF adapter but I’m looking to get them hard converted to EF. I’m just curious why I’m losing a stop of light and the field of view is that different between two 35mm lenses. The 1.4 is clearly sharper from f2 and beyond. There is no 1.8 from the 1.4 to make a direct comparison, but in all the ones you can the 1.4 is sharper. The CA is slightly lower in the RF 1.8. Also, the 5Dsr which is testing the ef 1.4 is 50mp. The R5 is 45, so the 1.4 looks sharper even on a higher mp sensor.
